Life skills in tennis

Tennis teaches young people skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives.

They gain resilience by learning to overcome the challenges of the game. Good sportsmanship comes from dealing with wins and defeats, whilst they develop teamwork skills as they need to cooperate with others to improve and to play in teams for doubles matches.

Making Friends

The programme typically groups players by age and skill, which allows your child to meet other players in similar school years and with similar playing ability levels. As your child progresses they will meet new like-minded players and have opportunities to play in different places and events.

Mental Health Benefits

Research indicates that tennis players have greater self–esteem, confidence, vigour, and optimism, whilst suffering less depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than other athletes and non–athletes. Tennis offers a great diversion from life’s stresses as well as a great opportunity for your child to socialise.
